Developing a personal safety plan is a key component of not only preparing for how we should (or might) react if confronted by a violent crime, but also how we might avoid violent crime altogether. This seminar teaches the importance of situational awareness through the color codes of awareness, how conflict avoidance benefits you at home and in public, and how vital it is to be proactive in your personal safety.
At its most basic level, a personal safety plan is designed to help keep us physically, legally, financially, and morally, safe.
Being aware of your surroundings isn’t paranoia – it’s preparedness. Understanding and practicing situational awareness is a critical part of your personal safety plan.
Our ultimate goal should be to avoid violent encounters in the first place by making intelligent decisions about our actions, behavior, and precautions.
